Notre Dame de Surcy

Reconstitution of a 13th to 16th century chapel, modeled and rendered with 3ds Max and Vray. It's one of the first project I worked on at Renderstorm studio. The process was quite complex : at first I had to do a lot of archeological research, because the chapel is now in ruins, then using Autocad I drew plans of the existing remains then modeled them as they probably should have been. This kind of 3D reconstitution project is always rewarding and uplifting to make and was a lot of fun !

It was Notre Dame de Surcy, a chapel used mostly by the monks that lived there and by the people of this little Normandy village. All the informations about the previous state came from old documents and plans found in the local archives.
